Especially in economically managed horse farms, stalls or equestrian centre, costs and benefits always take centre stage, even when it comes to the purchase of a horse solarium.
How to find the right horse solarium
The question that is always asked: "Will all riders use the horse solarium?" The answer to this question is a resounding no. In every stall, equestrian- or riding centre are riders who do not see the benefits of the horse solarium. The aim is for 60%-70% of riders to use the horse solarium regularly and 10%-15% to use it sporadically. However, this assumes that the solarium for horses has a certain level of performance. If the horse solarium is not powerful enough and takes too long to dry, for example, the riders will not wait to use the equine solarium. A new horse blanket will then be put on several times. But drying the damp horse rugs also takes time and space.
Before purchasing a horse solarium, the number of radiators should always be multiplied by their wattage (output). The lower the wattage, the longer the drying time and the lower the health benefits.
Many horse solariums look large, but often have no more than 3,600 watts of power. They use 150 watt small animal radiators (the effect is very low for horses and drying takes a very long time).
